Dear Citizens, Dear Friends,

It is an honour and a great pleasure to assume my duties as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong has long been one of the leading gateways for Türkiye’s trade with Asian countries. Indeed, our commercial and people-to-people ties with Hong Kong began to grow as early as the 19th century. The Ottoman frigate Ertuğrul also made a port call in Hong Kong in 1890.

Today, Hong Kong holds a strategic position in the Asia-Pacific region as a global financial, logistics and trading hub. Our bilateral trade volume stands at approximately USD 1 billion. The direct flights operated by Turkish Airlines further contribute to strengthening the ties between our peoples and business communities.

Within our area of jurisdiction, which encompasses the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, our foremost priorities will be to provide consular assistance and protection to our citizens, support the presence of Turkish entrepreneurs and businesspeople in the region with a view to further developing our bilateral trade, and strengthen Türkiye’s presence and engagement in the region.

In this regard, I would also like to underline the importance of staying in direct contact with us and following our activities and events through our social media accounts (X: @TC_HongKongBK, Facebook: hongkongbk, Instagram: tc_hongkongbk).

Throughout my tenure, I wholeheartedly look forward to meeting with you on various occasions and events that we will organize together.

I would like to reiterate that the doors of our Consulate General will always remain open to you. I wish you all good health, peace, and every success.

Sincerely,

Dr. Emirhan Yorulmazlar

Consul General
